We are currently accepting submissions for our inaugural issue
Submission Guidelines
Deadline: April 18, 2025
The Dialectics of Governance accepts essays in the subject of political thought, embracing a range of methodologies, theories, and intellectual traditions. Essays can be more theoretical or empirical, traditional or contemporary. Our objective is to engage in a diverse range of thought and ideas.
Submissions should be 3000 to 5000 words long (double-spaced, 12 point font, one-inch margins) in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Citations should follow the Chicago Author-Date Style. Submissions must not already be published in prior journals.
Submissions can be sent to either our email, dialecticsofgovernance@gmail.com, or through this google form.
Selection and Peer-Editing Processes
Our journal uses a double-blind rubric-style selection process to ensure impartiality. Applicants can expect to hear back from the journal by email in early April. Once accepted, applicants will given a three-day window to accept the offer.
Upon accepting the offer, submissions will be reviewed by our undergraduate editorial team, both the Referee and the Copy-Editing teams. Referees will provide substantive comments and edits regarding the submission’s argumentative structure, validity, originality, and engagement with relevant literature. The Copy-Editing team will work to ensure submissions follow the journal’s relevant grammatical, syntactical, style, and citation rules. The submission will be returned to the author, who will be given a two-week period to make relevant edits.
After this stage, our faculty advisors will review the final draft of the submission for a final round of edits before publication. Our publication date is set for the last week of the Trinity term, June 20th, 2025.
